Both of these fighters hail from the WEC.

Round 1-Danny Castillo gets the takedown, but Anthony Njokuani gets up. Njokuani gets slammed again, Castillo landing knees to his hamstrings against the cage. Castillo works a double leg against the cage and gets the takedown with Njokuani sitting up against the cage. Castillo is having his way in the wrestling department and Njkouani looks totally gassed. Danny goes for a guillotine, but Anthony spins out of it. Anthony goes for the standing guillotine, but Castillo slams out of it.

Danny Castillo won that round with his wrestling. 10–9 Castillo.

Round 2-The Nigerian is working the strikes but not really landing anything. Castillo shoots but doesn’t get anywhere. Anthony goes for a flying knee and Castillo tries for the takedown, he doesn’t get it. Another exchange of punches with Njokuani coming out slightly better. Castillo needs to shoot but chooses to box lazily instead.

Castillo shoots, but it is stuffed and Njokuani gets him in a nice Thai clinch while landing a bunch of knees. Announcer Joe Rogan exclaims as Njokuani lands a nice right hand to the chin of Castillo, who grabs the legs and secures a takedown in guard. Anthony kicks Castillo off with twenty seconds left and nothing else of note occurs. 10–9 Anthony Njokuani.

Round 3-Castillo gets the takedown but doesn’t do much damage. Anthony eventually gets up, goes for a leg bar and then ends up standing. Njokuani lands a knee. Njokuani lands a straight kick and gets taken down again. Not much else happens, Njokuani doesn’t want to try to win this despite the fact that he’s spend two-thirds of the fight on his back. Fight ends. 10–9 Castillo.

No question 29–28 Castillo in my book. Njokuani is acting like he won the fight. It’s not close. Judges give it to Castillo by split decision. One idiot judge had it 29–28 Njokuani, the other two agree with me. Castillo says it wasn’t controversial. I agree. He won the first and third clearly.

These judges are scary bad. It couldn’t have been more clear who won. At least the win correctly went to Castillo, who took the fight on short notice.
